Gate.io Contract Data, Hourly Sessions, and DEX On-Chain Files

January 2026 brings several important updates across the Market Data API and Flat Files API. These improvements focus on better trading accuracy, more flexible historical data access, and expanded on-chain coverage for decentralized exchanges.

The Market Data API now includes contract unit information for Gate.io perpetual contracts (GATEIOPERP).

New fields such as future_contract_unit and future_contract_unit_asset provide accurate contract size details, helping ensure correct position sizing, PnL calculations, and risk management when working with perpetual futures.

WebSocket connection stability has been enhanced for the following exchanges:

  • Gate.io Spot (GATEIO)
  • Gate.io Perpetuals (GATEIOPERP)
  • Gate.io Futures (GATEIOFTS)
  • Gate.io Options (GATEIOOPT)
  • LIGHTER exchange

These improvements reduce disconnects and improve data consistency for real-time market feeds.

Historical data access now supports hourly sessions across multiple REST API endpoints.

Updates include:

  • Hourly granularity for order books, quotes, and trades
  • Automatic fallback to daily data when hourly data is unavailable

This makes it easier to analyze intraday market behavior while maintaining continuity in longer historical ranges.

The Flat Files API now supports DEX on-chain data, available as hourly and daily flat files.

New datasets include:

  • Swaps
  • Deposits
  • Withdrawals

Supported DEX protocols:

  • Uniswap V2 and V3
  • Curve Finance
  • SushiSwap V2
  • Dodo V2
  • Balancer V2

Data is available in CSV and Parquet formats, with:

  • Hourly files for data after December 23, 2025
  • Daily aggregated files for longer historical coverage

The on-chain data pipeline has also been enhanced to ensure efficient processing and reliable access at scale.
